This cottage has lots of original features like an arched granite entrance and huge exposed oak beams.
There is a separate patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ. There are two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.
The communal patio area has a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the children play. We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.
The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. The pool is open from May - September.
The gardens are the ideal place to relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while drinking a glass a wine.
There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda there is table soccer, table tennis and a darts board. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.
Down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside. Although we are in a quiet location, we are only 5 mins away from the village centre with its bar-tabac-restaurant. And only 10 mins from Louvigne du Desert with its, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
Also nearby are attractions like Mont Saint Michel, water and floral parks, walking and cycle tracks, trout fishing, horse riding, canoeing, kayaking, Chateaux, and numerous places of interest.
We are the ideal place for that weekend break, a house-hunting trip, that romantic weekend or that family holiday, group bookings also available.
There really is something for everyone in this beautiful part of Brittany.
Bedroom(s): The 1st floor has a shower room and 4 bedrooms, 2 double rooms 1 with an en-suite, a room with 2 single beds and a room with bunk beds. The bedrooms have electric heating for winter.

Bathroom(s): The property has 2 bathrooms with power showers, vanity sink unit, toilet and heated towel rail. One of these is an en-suite to the back double bedroom.
Living Room: The open plan lounge, kitchen, diner is ideal for family entertainment. The comfortable lounge area has a chimney with a wood burner and some granite walls. There is comfortable seating for 8, a CTV, DVD player and a hifi. The dining area has seating for 8.
Kitchen: The well equipped kitchen has a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, gas cooker and a microwave. Double doors open onto a covered veranda, this leads to the shared garden and pool area.
Other: You can hire bikes for your stay either daily or weekly, they will be delivered to your door and collected.
Helpful Information: Rental weeks are from 4 pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday during peak, flexable at all other times.
For the comfort of our future guests, smoking is permitted in outdoor areas only.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: All bedding and towels are included (not pool/beach towels). A welcome pack (tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, homemade jam and a bottle of wine). For weekend breaks (a bottle of wine). For Xmas and New Year bookings (festive decorations, bottle of bubbly and luxury chocs). Gas and electric and a heating allowance in cooler months.
Beach: The coastline is called the Emerald coast and has miles of sandy beaches, hidden coves and about an hours drive.
Booking Notes: A £150 security deposit is required per cottage, this will be refunded to you after you leave providing it has been left in a reasonable condition and there are no breakages. If the cottage has not been left in a reasonable condition then £75 will be deducted to cover costs.
Further Details: Restaurants: There are several locally in Melli, Louvigne Du Desert, St James, Landean and St George we recommend them all. Lunchtime prices are cheaper at about 10.50.
Shops: Super U in St James is open 9 - 12 Sundays. Most shops in the area are shut on Mondays except for the supermarkets. All shops close between 12.30 - 2.30 everyday for lunch although the bakers do remain open.
Local market days (mornings only): St James (Monday - only a small market), St Hilaire (Wednesday), Pontorson (Wednesday), Fougeres (Saturday) and St Malo (Saturday).

"LE PIGEONNIER" at Lauzanac, or the Pigeon's Cottage is situated in the South of the Dordogne, at 3 km far from the Medieval Village of EYMET and 25 km far from Bergerac and its airport, in the green countryside, close to a farm in activity.
This house has been built at the XVIII° century but has been restored in the style of the region in 2006 in a confortable and lovely way. The rooms are square but spacious and on 2 floors. The river Dropt is just down the drive at 200 m and at 1 km, a big reservoir is open to fish and surrounded by a path for people who like to walk.
Ground floor : An equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/frizer, hob and oven, coffee machine ... The dining room with the family table and benches. The Internet access (broadband) and a large window open on the garden and the countryside. A living room with confortable seats, the satellite tv with English channels, dvd player and some information about the area. Here as well, a large window open on the garden and a stove for the winter. Also the bathroom with a bath and a double basin. The separate wc.
On the 1st floor : its separated in 2 parts and you can go above by 2 different staircases which is nice for 2 families or teenagers. There is : 1 bedroom with a double bed close to a small mezzanine with a single bed and a sofa bed for 1 child. On the same floor but by the second staircase : 1 bedroom with a double bed and a cot you can put in the bedroom you choose. A bathroom with shower and a basin and the wc.
On the 2nd floor : this part was really used by the pigeons, you could see the nests and the beautiful stone with 6 oles used by them to go away. We have kept the original roof and there are 3 single beds.
Close to the house, a covered terrasse with table and chairs.
The cottage is surrounded by a large garden with a swing. The table tennis is in the garage. There is place for the cars. Also a barbeque not far from the terrasse. Another covered terrasse with pool chairs where you can see the river and the animals in the fields.
The pool (8m x 4m) is private and fenced for the security of your children.
Come and meet the animals of the farm. For the lovers of the nature or the fishermen, the river Dropt is just down our drive and there is also a big reservoir with a path around for walking afternoons.
Eymet is a lovely bastide with its typical arcades on the square. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Famous market each thursday morning since 1270 ...
